Threats Increasing for Mac Devices, Feels Malwarebytes

A new study carried out by Malwarebytes has revealed that threat detections for Mac computers have been on a rise in 2019. This study done by Malwarebytes lab researchers focused upon top threats for Windows, Mac, and Android based devices. They found that out of top 25 threats, 6 were mainly found on Mac devices. This is not an unusual statistic but when one takes a look at relatively small numbers of Mac devices in comparison to Android and Windows devices, he feels this is a relatively high number. If you are a Mac user, you can confirm this finding by contacting Malwarebytes help number.

The same sentiment was echoed by Malwarebytes Mac and Mobile Director Thomas Reed. He said that 16% threats for Mac devices is not a big number but it becomes interesting when one takes a look at the relatively smaller numbers of Mac devices being used by consumers these days. Reed also added that the presence of Malwarebytes on Mac computers is also 1/8 in comparison to Windows based computers.

Another interesting number emerging out of this study was 9.8. This was the number of detections per Mac in this study and which is very alarming. This is because the corresponding number for Windows in this study is just 4.2. This means that on an average, every Mac device reported more than twice threat detections as compared to each Windows device. This is really surprising for many experts. There is a feeling among experts that Mac computers are less susceptible to online threats than Windows computers.

However, if you talk to any reliable Malwarebytes customer support number, you would be told that these numbers are not really a cause for concern. For any Mac user, these statistics are a little bit disturbing as they have always believed Apple devices to be more secure than Windows computers. They are of a view that their devices will be protected from malware through a shield. However, this report also does not mean that if you are an owner of a Mac device, it will be infected with a large number of threats pretty soon.

The findings of this study clearly say that the numbers revealed are based upon Mac users having Malware bytes installed in their computers. A vast majority of Mac owners do not install any antivirus in the belief that their computers are safe and do not need protection of an external antivirus. By the time some of them install Malwarebytes in their devices, it is already too late and they have infected computers.

Another fact that downplays Mac threats is that they are not full blown traditional threats and are more or less limited in scope and nature. They may be unwanted programs or adware that are not malicious in nature.

Is your Malwarebytes slowing computer? Is your Malwarebytes not detecting malware? For these and many other similar problems, you can call up at Malwarebytes phone number any time you need help. This service hs helped hundreds of Malwarebytes customers in the last few months.
